           How To Obtain The Forms Necessary For Publishing
       A Stanford University Technical Report or Technical Note



     Use ftp to obtain the file /pub/reports/forms/Request-To-Publish
from Elib.Stanford.EDU and follow the instructions in that file.

     If this is the first time you are publishing a Technical Report
or Technical Note, you will need some files in addition to the
Request-To-Publish file.  You may want to ftp all of the files in the
directory /pub/reports/forms on Elib.Stanford.EDU onto your system.
Once you have the files on your system follow the instructions in the
Request-To-Publish file and then delete the files that you don't need.



Instructions for using ftp to get the Request-To-Publish file:

     Type the following commands on your system:
          ftp elib.stanford.edu
          anonymous                        (Type this in response
                                            to the Name prompt.)
          your internet mail address       (eg. Hector@CS.Stanford.EDU
                                            Type this in response
                                            to the Password prompt.)
          cd /pub/reports/forms
          get ???-Request-To-Publish       (Where ??? is CSD if the
                                            document is being published
                                            through the CS Department or
                                            is CSL if through the Computer
                                            systems Laboratory.)
          quit


Instructions for using ftp to get all of the files:

     Type the following commands on your system:
          ftp elib.stanford.edu
          anonymous                        (Type this in response
                                            to the Name prompt.)
          your internet mail address       (eg. Hector@CS.Stanford.EDU
                                            Type this in response
                                            to the Password prompt.)
          cd /pub/reports/forms
          prompt
          mget *
          quit
