DATE:: July 1990 PAGES:: 25 ABSTRACT:: Tango is a software simulation and tracing system used to obtain data for evaluating parallel programs and multiprocessor systems. The system provides a simulated multiprocessor environment by multiplexing application processes onto a single processor. Tango achieves high efficiency by running compiled user code, and by focusing on the information of greatest interest to multiprocessing studies. The system is being applied to a wide range of investigations, including algorithm studies and a variety of hardware evaluations. NOTES:: [Adminitrivia V1/Prg/19941108] END:: STAN//CSL-TR-90-439
