BIB-VERSION:: CS-TR-v2.0 ID:: STAN//CS-TR-71-210 ENTRY:: November 01, 1995 ORGANIZATION:: Stanford University, Department of Computer Science TITLE:: ACCESS: a program for the catalog and access of information TYPE:: Technical Report AUTHOR:: Purdy, J. Gerry DATE:: March 1971 PAGES:: 30 ABSTRACT:: ACCESS is a program for the catalog and access of information. The program is primarily designed for and intended to handle a personal library, although larger applications are possible. ACCESS produces a listing of all entries by locator code (so one knows where to find the entry in his library), a listing of entry titles by user-specified category codes, and a keyword-in-context KWIC listing (each keyword specified by the user). ACCESS is presently programmed in FORTRAN and operates on any IBM System/360 under OS (it uses the IBM SORT/MERGE package). It is anticipated a machine language version (soon to be implemented) will greatly decrease the running time of the program. NOTES:: [Adminitrivia V1/Prg/19951101] END:: STAN//CS-TR-71-210
