Title: ACCESS: a program for the catalog and access of information
Author: Purdy, J. Gerry
Date: March 1971
Abstract: ACCESS is a program for the catalog and access of information. The program is primarily designed for and intended to handle a personal library, although larger applications are possible. ACCESS produces a listing of all entries by locator code (so one knows where to find the entry in his library), a listing of entry titles by user-specified category codes, and a keyword-in-context KWIC listing (each keyword specified by the user). ACCESS is presently programmed in FORTRAN and operates on any IBM System/360 under OS (it uses the IBM SORT/MERGE package). It is anticipated a machine language version (soon to be implemented) will greatly decrease the running time of the program.
