Title: The solution of large systems of algebraic equations

Abstract: The solution of a system of linear algebraic equations using a computer is not a difficult problem as long as the equations are not ill-conditioned and all of the coefficients can be stored in the computer. However, when the number of coefficients is so large that supplemental means of storage, such as magnetic tape, are required, the problem of solving the system in an efficient manner increases considerably. This paper describes a method of solution whereby such systems of equations can be solved in an efficient manner. The problems associated with ill-conditioned systems of equations are not discussed.
